1. Data Controller

2. Data We Collect

Account information

  • Phone number, used for OTP or Truecaller login
  • Your name, and a profile photo if you add one
  • Email address, if you provide it (for example during a payment)

Spiritual profile (optional)

  • The deities you choose for your Virtual Mandir
  • Birth details for Kundali: date, time and place of birth, gender, and, if you enter them, parents’ names and address

AI guru conversations

  • The messages you send to the AI guru and its replies, stored so you can continue a conversation
  • Each message is analysed for sentiment, and a short summary of your conversations is kept to personalise future replies
  • Messages that suggest a risk to your safety are flagged for review

Practice and purchase data

  • Meditation sessions played, daily tasks completed, streaks, Punya points, reading and quiz activity
  • Wallet balance, recharges, subscriptions, and purchase history

Device and technical data

  • Device identifier, platform, app version, and push-notification token
  • IP address and request logs on our servers
  • App events such as screens viewed and buttons tapped (see Third-Party Services)

Unnati does not currently have a mood-tracking or journal feature.

3. How We Use Data

  • To run the app: login, your mandir, programs, progress, and purchases
  • To generate AI guru replies
  • To send reminders and notifications, if enabled
  • To understand how the app is used and to fix problems
  • To meet legal obligations

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your conversations for advertising.

4. Data Storage & Security

  • Data is stored on Amazon Web Services and is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
  • Conversations are not end-to-end encrypted. Our systems read them to generate replies and for safety review.
  • Retention: until you delete your account, or after 3 years of inactivity.

5. Third-Party Services

The app shares data with these providers so that it can work:

  • OpenAI: the text of your AI guru conversations is sent to OpenAI to generate replies
  • Mixpanel: app usage analytics, linked to your account (phone number, name, and email if provided)
  • Meta (Facebook App Events): app install and usage events, used to measure campaigns
  • Firebase (Google): phone OTP login, push notifications, and remote configuration
  • Truecaller: one-tap login, if you choose it
  • Razorpay and Apple: payments; we never see your card details
  • SMS and WhatsApp providers (Twilio, WhatsApp Business): delivery of OTP messages
  • Amazon Web Services: hosting and content delivery

This website uses Google Analytics. Each provider has its own privacy policy.

6. Your Rights (GDPR/India Data Protection)

  • Access: Request your data copy
  • Correction: Update incorrect information
  • Deletion: Request account deletion (see Data Deletion Policy)
  • Portability: Export your data
  • Objection: Opt-out of marketing
